- Do you have fixtures that suit my decor? faq id: 1
A-19 offers a variety of styles and finishes for our ambient lighting. We have styles and finishes that suit every type of decor, including Modern, Classic, Southwestern, Rustic, and Craftsman, among others. For example, you might choose our scalloped shell sconce with our blanco granite finish for your beachfront restaurant and you might choose our cylinder sconce with our buckskin leather finish and copper stitching for your mountain lodge.
- What are the advantages of ceramic? faq id: 2
Ceramic doesn’t rust or corrode. Because of this, our lighting fixtures are an excellent choice for various indoor and outdoor locations, especially salty and damp ones. Ceramic lighting fixtures are also versatile. For instance, we can provide the look of a metal, wood or leather sconce by applying a faux finish without your having to worry about its deterioration over time.
- Are A-19 fixtures ADA-compliant? faq id: 5
A-19 lighting fixtures with a depth of 4" or less meet the handicap projection requirements set forth by the American Disabilities Act (ADA). Some of our styles are available in multiple sizes; if you require ADA-compliant wall sconces, simply select a fixture with a depth of 4" or less.
- Can I paint my fixtures? faq id: 7
Yes. If you would like to paint your lighting fixtures, choose any style from the Islands of Light collection without specifying a finish. You will receive your light fixture in unfinished bisque. You may easily paint bisque with any latex or acrylic paint. No primer is necessary unless you are using an oil-based paint. Alternatively, we can paint your sconces and pendants for you in one of over 50 finishes.

- Why should I buy from A-19? faq id: 14
All our products, from beginning to end, are made in America. Our wall sconces and pendants are designed, molded, fired, sanded, finished, assembled, and shipped from our factory in California. Our fused glass and ceramic products are made by hand with a careful eye to detail and craftsmanship. Moreover, we respect the impact of our business on the social and physical environment. Therefore, we hire locally, treat each employee like a member of our family, and promote education and creativity in our community. We also recycle our clay, filter the water we use before it leaves our factory, and use recycled boxes, bubble wrap, and office materials.
- Are unfinished bisque fixtures suitable for outdoor use? faq id: 16
Because of the porous nature of unfinished bisque, we recommend sealing our fixtures with an exterior grade paint or clear lacquer. If used unfinished, the bisque will weather and become soiled.
- Is it necessary to paint bisque fixtures? faq id: 18
Bisque is very beautiful in its natural state and may be cleaned by gently sanding with fine grade sandpaper. Sealing the surface of our bisque fixtures with paint or clear lacquer makes cleaning easier.
- Should the interior of the fixture be painted? faq id: 19
We do not recommend painting the interior of the fixture because paint may blister from the heat of the heat of the bulb and it may diminish and/or tint the reflected light.
